<image:title>Sculptor - White Protects Black (and vise versa)</image:title>
<image:caption>At the very least, we need to tolerate those that are different than us; those of a different race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or belief system. It’s even better if we can not only accept, but celebrate those differences as long as they’re loving and constructive and not hateful and destructive. The pinnacle of this caring is to actually protect those different from ourselves. It goes against our tribal instincts to protect only our own, but it is the truest meaning of “love thy neighbor”. And it also means to love our “enemy”, who is often perceived as a threat because of their differences. The crystal they both carry speaks to their common humanity. 36x36x6, 9.6 lbs, reclaimed steel, copper, bronze, wood, epoxy clay</image:caption>

<image:title>Sculptor - The Moon is Free</image:title>
<image:caption>The Moon is Free (A young person’s take on this sculpture; there is no ‘right’ title.) The workman has no time for tea; he has to pay the gas man’s fee. An automotive refugee, the landlord made evictee by raising rent rates suddenly (of course, he acted prudently with how the market’s due to be). A plague takes half his family, and yet this plague’s a falsity? His grandmother needs surgery; His great aunt Cass needs tubes to breathe (his wage won’t pay for both of these: per hour, $7.33) Amid his pain, one light has he: the moon (for now, at least) is free. I will attempt to correct their interpretation of my language. The word ‘Pa-ha’ is broken up into two meanings: Pa describes the mountains emerging from the earth. Paha Sapa all together gives you a picture and a description of our sacred mountains as seen from a distance. The Ponderosa Pine gives the illusion of black from a distance and the mountains emerging from the earth. Paha Sapa. Therefore, what you see is holy. The words ‘Kȟe Sapa’ also gives you a description of what the sacred mountains look like close up, with the white stone cliffs, the meadows and the trees and the valleys. Using the eroded whelk shell in the forefront of the resin-infused sand base as a model, the large, surreal whelk shell was constructed with paper clay. <image:caption>Shells And Stones And Sea Glass, by Lois Read I pick up shells and stones and sea glass wave-glazed and glossy still on early morning beach walks add them to those from yesterday which sit, shine gone at home upon the shelf. It seems each walk must be remembered, marked with pockets full of evidence as though the moving moment will slip out of reach without at tangible talisman. Yet once the luster leaves the sea gloss dries the sweet kiss of salt air has left my cheek the pile becomes just stones, and bits of glass something to dust around. Well then let us make a pact to savor shells and glass in situ with every other shining thing like angel wings and fleeting loves.</image:caption>

Time & Searching & Growing & Striving At journey’s end and beginning, the heart of completeness is found. Becoming entwined, the one recognizes the other. They are as one, but still separate and distinct. Bound in Love, they radiate a subtle, but awesome Light. By Paul R. Bareis</image:caption>

<image:title>Sculptor - Transcendence</image:title>
<image:caption>“Transcendence” was conceived and modeled while my mother, Marlowe, was in the final stages of Alzheimer’s Disease and was close to death. It helped me deal with my grief as I believed she’d be “transcending” to a better place. The female was actually modeled after her granddaughter, Anica, as I think we once again revert to a state of youthful innocence and bliss. The stylized hand is that of an angel, there to vanquish all fear and aid in the transition. Multiple glass panes. upon which the soul is passing through, represents those dimensional planes that separate us from whatever lies beyond. The essence of this piece...love goes on! 17x17x16, 48 lbs, bronze, glass Available for $10,000; Available for $4,000 in epoxy clay (weighs much less)</image:caption>

<image:title>Sculptor - Her Soul's Choreography</image:title>
<image:caption>This sculpture is dedicated to my friend Kimberly Horton, who was a magnificent prima ballerina with Tampa Ballet, Dayton Ballet, and Colorado Ballet. Her dance emanated from her very soul, resulting in fluid grace; beauty personified. Kimberly Horton literally sacrificed her body for her art as her career ended when she broke her back during her last performance. She died at the age of 55 in 2020. Her passing is also a reminder to all artists that we can't take life for granted. So, "Carpe diem!" (Seize the day!)</image:caption>

<image:title>Ghost Ranch Gallery - White Protects Black (and vise versa)</image:title>

<image:title>Ghost Ranch Gallery - The Moon is Free</image:title>
At the base of the sculpture are pieces of gnarled cedar and a beautifully finished slab of elm, both of which are decades old if not surpassing the century mark! <image:title>Heart Gallery - Moana</image:title>
<image:caption>The title, “Moana” was chosen because in Polynesian culture, it symbolizes the ocean’s vital role in life, connecting all islands and peoples, and representing a spiritual guide. Using the eroded whelk shell in the forefront of the resin-infused sand base as a model, the large, surreal whelk shell was constructed with paper clay. The ‘beach’ is adorned with LED lit sea glass and net floats. The stand is constructed out of faux driftwood. The beach setting was provided by AI, as taking this large sculpt down to Puerto Rico would have been problematic!</image:caption>

<image:title>Heart Gallery - Moana at night</image:title>

<image:title>Heart Gallery - Heart Pulse</image:title>
<image:caption>Heart Pulse A sense that there’s something more: an inner pulse that pushes you, an outer pulse that pulls you. How to connect the two? Yearnings lead up rugged mountains, Urges propel down flowing streams. It’s Life’s journey. The heart knows… The one is the Inner Spirit. The other is the Universal All. How do the two become one? Time & Searching & Growing & Striving At journey’s end and beginning, the heart of completeness is found. Becoming entwined, the one recognizes the other. They are as one, but still separate and distinct. Bound in Love, they radiate a subtle, but awesome Light. By Paul R. Bareis</image:caption>

<image:title>Heart Gallery - Transcendence</image:title>
<image:title>Sculptor: Fluid Grace Gallery - Her Soul's Choreography</image:title>
